Sitting at the Bar

So I went to Applebee's today to get a gift card to give as a present. I asked the hostess where I could purchase said gift card and she told me to wait at the bar. She said that the bartender would be with me shortly.

I felt a little bit out of place just chillin' at the bar waiting for this gift card. I was the only one at the bar, but there were quite a few people in the restaurant. The bartender came up to me a few minutes later. After explaining what I needed, he asked me if he could get me a drink while I waited. I told him "no thank you" and he left.
I think that this is the first time that I have 1) ever sat at the bar and 2) been offered a drink. [Had I said Yes I would have been carded without a doubut though :) ]

I sort of laughed to myself about the situation I was in and waited for the bartended to come back with the gift card. After he came back I thanked him and left. I chuckled to myself about this incident all the way home!

I think you should've said yes just so you could say you've been carded.

i had a club bouncer once tell me that there was no way in heck that i was 20 (or whatever i was at the time). even with the id, he said he didn't believe i was a day over 15 or 16.

i still got in, though.

I'm more like that commercial with the woman with the babe hair is buying beer and the clerk asks for ID. Then she looks up and you see her face and it's all like 40 years old or something. Then it says, "Make someone's day. Ask for ID".
