Doctor Discrimination

So my wrist has been hurting for like 2 weeks now and I am finally giving in an wanting to go to the doctor to see what's wrong.

I haven't been to the doctor since I moved to Utah and don't really care who I go to at this point.

I have called 2 different doctors (one in Provo and the other in Orem) this week to see if I could set up an appointment to see them. Both receptionists asked if I was a current patient of Dr. So-and-So. I replied "no". Their next question was "are you pregnant?" Again I replied "no". They then both proceeded to tell me that Dr. So-and-So was not taking any new patients at the time that were not pregnant.

What's a girl gotta do to see a doctor in this town???

I didn't realize how much this town was obsessed with marriage and family until they denied me medical treatment on the basis of my lack of pro-creation!

All I can say is WOW. I almost don't believe it. I guess you're going to have to get married before you can take care of your wrist. Better get working on it! ;)

just tell them you're pregnant. if they figure out you're not then you can conjure up a few years of dismay/relief and call it good.
